A Great Way to Connect with Murphysboro

By Stephanie Ward
The school year is starting which means BASH is just a month away! It is truly a blessing that we, as a church, are able to put on this after-school program.  I thank God for those of you who have committed yourself to helping it be a successful program; whether it be through your time volunteering, cooking food, providing funds or praying.  If you have helped someway in the past and want to help again or if you are interested in helping for the first time, here are some areas where you are needed:

1. Volunteer your time by teaching or helping (all curriculum is provided)
      a. Teach K-2 grades - 6:30 - 7:30
      b. Teach 3-5 grades - 6:30 - 7:30
      c. Teach 6-8 grades - 6:30 - 7:30
      d. Someone to help watch kids during their playtime from 3:30 to 6:30. Can do every other week; or pick months to help.

2.  Volunteer by Cooking
      a. Dates are available! Please contact me or sign up on Sunday!
      b.  Make a simple meal that feeds a lot! The kids love spaghetti, chicken nuggets, hot dogs....you get the idea!

3. Financial Support
      a.  We provide dinner and snacks for the kids weekly and also like to provide certain activities for them throughout the year.  We could use your help with that.
      b.  If you don't want to provide the food for dinner, do not worry! We have people who are willing to cook food that others donate or to go to the store and buy food with money donated.

Again, thank you all for supporting the church and our various missions! If you have any questions or concerns about BASH or any other youth/children's programs, please contact me!

Thanks again :D
